◎简　　介
　　　　能够成为一名对社会有用的人一直都是张志杰（梁朝伟 饰）的理想，长大成人后，充满了正义感的他选择成为了一名警察。在与女友谢颖芝（张曼玉 饰）分手后，志杰接受了林佩贤（黄造时 饰）的追求，两人走到了一起。                                                                    　　倪峰（刘青云 饰）是志杰的师兄，一次意外中，由于志杰的疏忽，倪峰遭遇 了车祸身负残疾，自暴自弃的他离开了警队，淡出了众人的视线。志杰有一同父异母的兄弟名为家明（戴志卫 饰），与志杰是同行，最近，家明因被卷入一宗诈骗案之中而遭到了追杀，杀手不是别人，正是消失已久的倪峰。家明死了，凶器竟然是志杰的配枪，志杰因此亦被卷入案中。为了证明自己的清白，志杰开始了对案件的调查。
